a lot of you might wonder why i decided to go with Littleluv Kennels, so this is the section where i explain my reasoning behind this purchase. well, here goes... staley is my first italian greyhound and first pet i've had that has not been a rescue or gift from another person. it's always easy to receive, but when you put your money on the line it seems as if the investment is a bit more thought out and researched.

i'm one of those people who are always out looking for a bargain or something i can get cheaper, and no... i'm not a littleluv "shill" or getting any sort of compensation for this section. i'm what one would call a "novice" when it comes to show dogs or dogs with pedigree's, so you can imagine how breeders with 1/2 a clue react when you try and approach them for a "pet" or companion animal. i wasn't initially in the market for an italian greyhound as i was looking for a whippet since i thought my companion of 18 years was a whippet. anyways, after my first few initial run ins with amateur breeder's throughout southern california i decided to go with littleluv. i spent 60% more than what i wanted to spend on a dog, but i feel he was 100% worth every penny i spent for him. as i said... i'm cheap and always looking for a bargain... was the dog cheap? no, but that was the point. i didn't want a "cheap" dog... i wanted a companion who came from someone with a reputation and someone i could hold accountable if there was a problem with my puppy. california has puppy lemon laws galore, but how can one enforced these established laws with someone 600 miles away selling puppy mill dogs?

i first viewed my italian greyhound puppy @ victoria's home... she wasn't a puppy mill... she's a normal person like you and i who seems to have bred for the breed and not to make a profit. i met both Paris and Nancy and the rest of the gang - nope, no puppy mill there... i went to kathy's home and she wasnt a puppy mill either... they both answered my questions and made me feel @ ease with my purchase and i honestly feel i got staley at a bargain price. sure, i thought about spending $425 - $800 from one of those breeder's that pop up in the Google search engine, but if you look @ the lifespan of a dog and its initial purchase price... yeah, it's not that much to keep puppy mills and unethical breeders in business.

my initial review of norm and kathy holmes and victoria von holder are 100% positive. i recommend anyone experienced or novice to deal with them if you're local or in the market for an italian greyhound. my puppy seems to be in good health and i know they would take care of my concerns if there was any congenital defects in my puppy now or in the near future. the whole point of purchasing a companion is having them healthy for the rest of their life, not having to let them go once you've grown attached to them.

and yes... im already in love with staley :)
